JENNINGS, LA I STOPPED HERE LAST Mr. John G. Mason, (71) departed this life at 6:30 A.M. Sunday, February 22, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Masons body was cremated. A private service will be held at a later date. Mr. Mason was a member of the Marine Corp from 1954 to 1957. He was a retired truck driver, having driven 18 wheelers for 46 years. He married the former Elaine Benoit on July 6, 1999 in Pasadena, TX. Mr. Mason is survived by his wife, Elaine B. Mason of Jennings; (1) one brother, Karl Mason, of San Jose, CA; and (1) sister, Rosalie Mayer. Mr. Mason was preceded in death by his parents, John G. Mason, Sr., and Violet Harris Mason, and (1) one sister, Katherine Shipman.

  9. I felt like I knew John Mason through his loving wife Elaine. She often spoke of him with affection and kindness and she truly admired him. We will miss him for sure.
