Jacob Warren Clifford

March 30, 1958 ~ March 7, 2023

3/30/1958 to 3/7/2023

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Jake who passed away peacefully in his recliner with his wife by his side.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Jennings on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service being held at 11:00 a.m.

Jake was born in Jennings, LA to Thomas Perkins and Marguerite Monks Clifford. He was a 1976 graduate of Jennings High School and then went on to receive an Associate’s degree in Aviation/Helicopter Maintenance and Repair from Sowela Technical School. Jake worked 38 years for Air Logistics/ Bristow Helicopters until his retirement in 2018.

Jake loved hunting and fishing since he was a child. Although he no longer hunted; he continued to enjoy fishing and even participated in Louisiana and Texas Oilman’s Bass Tournaments at Toledo Bend.

In 2011 Jake married his first wife Patricia Vanya and became instant “PawPaw” to 3 kids and eventually 11 grandkids. He deeply cherished this “new” family and was always willing to go above and beyond to do whatever was needed for his “kids” and “grandkids”.

Those who will miss him most include his brothers Thomas ”Tee” (Lynn)  Clifford of Pollock, LA; David (Sally) Pickering of Onalaska, Texas; and William “Billy” (Carol) Pickering of Picayune, Mississippi; his aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was deeply loved by his “kids” Kristin Menard Anderson and Mike Anderson of Montgomery, Texas; Faith Menard (Corby) Francois of Arnaudville, LA; and Daniel (Kara) Menard of Welsh, LA. as well as his “grandkids” Miles and Adia Anderson; Corbin, Colby, and Colsten Francois; and Dylon, Noah, Grant, Jake, Kacin, and Harper Menard.  Jake loved and will also be missed by those he so lovingly referred to as his “Vanya” family.
