Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Miss Gene was a dear friend of our mothers and will be greatly missed all who knew and loved her. She always had a smile. We will always remember her Christmas village she put up in Sulphur and invited all to see. Gene was a wonderful friend and caregiver.. She will be greatly missed. Prayers for her family from Walter, Ruth Ann and Margaret

  2. Ms. An elegy was my favorite teacher at WW Lewis. She was an amazing woman and truly cared about her students. I remember having wonderful conversations with her about sports and her growing up with my dad. She was a special lady who left a meaningful mark on my life. Her legacy lives on in the many students who were touched by her life.

  3. Miss Ancelet was my P.E. Coach at Pearl Watson for 3 years. She was special to me! She made me feel like I was special to her! One time she showed me a book in the library and we had a good laugh about it. I knew she thought I was special when she shared the book with me! Then, there were "girl" times that I can not share publicly, but, she definitely helped me through those times! I loved the way that she found ways to laugh ! But, when it came time to get things done and be serious about it…. she was the leader of the gals! She will be missed by many!

  4. Coach Ancelet inspired a generation of young girls in the early 1960s at Pearl Watson Jr High to try their hardest, persevere and be leaders. Several of us achieved high school statewide & regional athletic awards in a day and age when we could only dribble the basketball twice, and there were no college scholarships for girl athletes. Several of us have gone on to lives of civic duty, including Senator Willie Mount and myself. We looked to her for advice in good times and bad. Coach Ancelet made a difference.
