Francis J Klein, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Francis Joseph Klein, Sr., 91, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating.


Entombment will be in the Gueydan Mausoleum under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.


Visitation will be from 5:00 – 9:00 PM today, Wednesday, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 a.m.


Mr. Klein died at 11:40 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 in the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Home.


Mr. Klein was a native of Frey, LA and lifelong resident of the Klondike area.   He was a retired rice farmer and Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Deputy.  He thoroughly enjoyed his weekly poker games with friends.  He was an avid sportsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing.  He worked as a guide at Oak Island Hunting Club for over 50 years.


He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Lemaire Klein; 2 daughters, Rebecca (Jerry) Fluitt of Gueydan, LA; Marjorie (David) Carpenter of Cheektowaga, NY; 3 sons, Francis J. Klein, Jr. of Toronto, Canada, Gregory (Jackie) Klein of Lafayette, Richard Klein of Virginia Beach, VA; 4 sisters, Shirley (Wilfred) Broussard of Gueydan, Dorothy (Irvin) Broussard of Lake Charles, Betty LaPoint of Lake Arthur, Elaine (Michael) Lounsberry of Gueydan; 3 brothers, Wilbur “Pete” Klein of Bridge City, TX, Robert “Bob” Klein of Lake Arthur, Donald (Lollie) Klein of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.


Mr. Klein was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lenia Bertrand Klein, a daughter, Catherine Langley, sister, Henrietta Klein and a brother George James “Jim” Klein.
